Hi Erik – we certainly plan to continue to support iOS. The Android update brought that app up-to-date with the features in the iOS app.

in reply to: iPhone XS does not read meter #47940Your meter is likely still bonded/paired to your old phone. To clear the bonding, please do this:
1. Clear the bonding state in your phone and your meter:
a. Press and hold the power button for 8 seconds – until you see the LEDs start to blink magenta. Then let go of the power button. Turn off the meter.
b. On your old phone, go to Settings, Connected Devices, Bluetooth. Find the Illuminati Meter entry and Forget it. If you don’t have your old phone, no need for this step. I include it for completeness.
c. On your new phone, please do the same – removing any connection info to an Illuminati Meter in your phone. You probably won’t see it there, but just in case…2. Turn on the meter, it will blink blue, waiting for a connection.
3. Start the app.
4. In the app go to Devices and select “Scan” for the Illuminati Meter.
5. It should connect right away. Please let me know if this works. It is very successful for folks who change phones.
in reply to: Troubleshooting Your Connection #47427Usually, the “purple reset” (press and hold the meter’s power button down for 10 seconds from the OFF state – until the LEDs blink magenta) does the trick when folks change phones – either iPhones or Android phones.
The reason the reset procedure is needed is this: the user gets the meter, and bonds it to their phone. They change phones, and the meter won’t connect to the new phone. So, they have to do a “purple reset”. That erases the bonding info and the meter will connect.
Sounds like you’ve tried this already. And I am sure you have the latest app installed on your phone, since it is new.
Please also try going into your phone settings and looking for – and forgetting – any mention of “Illuminati Meter” in your Bluetooth connected devices. There might not be any – just making sure.

in reply to: Cinematography #47070Thanks, Gustavo. These are all great ideas – very helpful. The ND thing is pretty easy to do. A memory function is planned, along with a logging function.
Perhaps we could have a side conversation about app features. You can always find us at “info” at illuminatiinstruments_dot_com.
in reply to: Current, released versions of apps and firmware #47069Hi Erik – we had some catching up to do for the Android app, so iPhone users wouldn’t really gain from updating the firmware: the currently available iPhone app is roughly equivalent to the new Android app. However, there are a few new nice-to-haves such as the addition of the COLOR tab which just displays the color temperature and green/magenta shift for ambient and strobe in large type. We also separated out the STILL and VIDEO exposure tabs into two. We added an EV tile, which would probably be useful for iPhone folks. In terms of functionality, there is not a huge advantage. We DO plan an iPhone update for Q1, 2019.
This blogpost covers the Android newness:

– Rudyin reply to: Meter Won’t Turn On #46639@oscar – Sorry about your problems. While we’re glad you were able to repair it, we don’t recommend opening the meter. You risk damaging the meter or invalidating the calibration. We recommend other to contact our support team.

In any case, thank you for being an Illuminati Instruments’ customer.Hi Erik,
Nice to hear from you again. This might be due to the amount of light. You need enough light for ISO 100, F5, and a suitable shutter speed (say, 1/160 or so) to get a reading. Then it will consistently give readings, and the red dot. Also, to get a good reading from for color from a strobe, put the meter pretty close to the source.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
RudyHi Oscar – we put this feature in specifically so you can do just that. You can change the LED brightness all the way down to 0. Go to the Illuminati app’s settings screen. The control is at the bottom of the screen. If you are Android, I will need to send an unreleased version of the app to do this. Please let me know via email.
@Owen Egan – thanks for your question. We have replaced your meter and sent you an updated app. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do. Also, as always, interested in what you are doing with your meter and how it is working for you.
in reply to: Meter Freezes in Flash Metering Mode #46555@Mark Pitsilos – Sensitivity 7 or 8 works with firmware version 906. Use 10 if you have a different version.
Meter firmware version is on the Setting screen, upper left.
Also, thanks for contacting us.in reply to: History of Readings stored where? #46189That is a feature that we have not yet implemented. We do plan to.
